Resources for Students, Families, & Educators

How Do I Use This Tool?

The Native Student Aid Portal, located on the home tab, is an interactive map with filters to identify financial aid opportunities for Native students across the United States.

NSAP can be helpful for anyone interested in using financial aid to fund their postsecondary education, whether you are just beginning your college search process, thinking about transferring to a new institution, or considering graduate school.

Before using the NSAP search tool, we encourage users to read (or download the PDF) to learn what information is included in the NSAP tool and definitions of terms we used when summarizing details about financial aid opportunities. These details are helpful to pay attention to as you learn more about financial aid through your college search process.

After using the NSAP search tool, refer to our list of Additional Resources for other financial aid opportunities not included in NSAP (like those offered by the National Native Scholarship Providers) and guides to help with your college search.

Additional Resources

NSAP does not currently include Native-centric financial aid opportunities provided by the United States federal government (e.g., BIA funding), Tribal nations, or private or non-profit organizations. Nor does NSAP include financial aid designed for all students. These opportunities can be valuable for Native students to fund their postsecondary education, so we encourage users to refer to this list for additional opportunities and explore financial aid websites at your college of interest.

Native-run organizations have created helpful guides with tips, tricks, and resources to help with college search and decisions.

The U.S. Government also provides helpful information to help learn more about college and careers and how the FAFSA is an important resource in financial aid.
